The Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (ANZCham) commented that Taiwan needs to further ease its COVID-19 controls to make doing business more attractive. It also calls for allowing wine sales online, as part of a new normalcy. Sales of alcoholic beverages online are prohibited in Taiwan, except via approved, monitored platforms. Taiwan is one of the top wine-consuming markets and has the highest proportion of e-commerce shoppers in Asia. More than 2,300 Australian companies trade with Taiwan, one of the highest levels for any market. ANZCham said having policies that are aligned is critical to ensure the economies of Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan thrive.
