Asia-Pacific behind on climate change policy, says IFC

Asia-Pacific countries are behind in climate change policy responses, said International Finance Corporation’s Riccardo Puliti. Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Eddie Yue emphasised the region’s critical role in addressing climate challenges and highlighted Hong Kong’s growth in green finance, with over USD80bn in green bonds issued in 2022. This accounts for a third of the region’s green financing. The development of the green bond market, investment opportunities in renewable energy in India, and the importance of clear categorization for green bonds were also discussed at the Climate Business Forum.
