Asset manager BlackRock names Yoon Pyo Lee as South Korea head



BlackRock has appointed Yoon Pyo Lee as managing director and head of its South Korea operations, effective December 20, the asset management firm said in a statement. Based in Seoul, Lee will be responsible for advancing BlackRock’s long-term business strategy in the country. Lee brings over 25 years of experience in private and public market investments, most recently serving as head of Korea at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. He has also held roles at Truston Asset Management, the National Pension Service of Korea, and Macquarie Group. Hiroyuki Shimizu, BlackRock’s deputy head of Asia Pacific, highlighted Lee’s expertise in guiding clients toward global diversification.
