The net value of assets under management for China’s public offering funds exceeded CNY30.9tr (USD4.41tr) by the end of August, according to the Asset Management Association of China. The data revealed that 163 management companies operated a total of 12,132 public offering funds. Open-end funds, including equity, bond, and money market types, held nearly CNY27.07tr, dominating the market, while closed-end funds accounted for approximately CNY3.84tr yuan. The China Securities Regulatory Commission has committed to expanding public equity funds to attract medium and long-term capital into the market. The value of public equity funds alone reached CNY3.29tr at August’s close, as regulators aim to enhance fund scale and deliver stable, long-term returns for investors.
