Bank of Singapore expands investment team, adding GIC veteran Ruivivar



OCBC’s Bank of Singapore has recruited Dr. Owi S. Ruivivar, formerly of the Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC, as chief portfolio strategist, a new role at the bank. Ruivivar brings over 30 years of experience in economics, investment strategy, and portfolio management. Her previous roles include leading investment-themed research and future markets investing at GIC, and positions at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, BNP Paribas, and the International Monetary Fund. Reporting to Chief Investment Officer Jean Chia in Singapore, Ruivivar will also serve on the investment committee responsible for asset allocation decisions. This hire aligns with the bank’s strategic focus on enhancing its research capabilities, recently evidenced by the formation of a global advisory council comprising industry experts.
