Barclays Private Bank has appointed Ong Shun Wei as the new head of Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) in Singapore, according to an internal memo. Ong, who will report to Olivier Asselin, the global co-head of investment management, joins from Credit Suisse Asset Management. At Credit Suisse, he was a senior portfolio manager focusing on Asian and emerging market bonds and led the Singapore-booked discretionary mandates for the fixed-income Asia team. Additionally, he served as the head of client portfolio management, driving business development. His prior experience includes a role at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he managed a team covering Asian, Australian, and global multi-sector fixed-income strategies.
