China is confident it can maintain steady and healthy economic growth and achieve its full-year growth target, the country’s top economic planner said on Tuesday. Market sentiment has improved recently, with a pickup in the manufacturing purchasing managers’ index, a warming stock market, and robust consumer activity during the National Day holiday, following the implementation of policies, said Zheng Shanjie, head of the National Development and Reform Commission. He stated that the fundamentals of China’s economic development remain unchanged, citing favourable conditions such as huge market potential and strong economic resilience.
