Citi names CEO for Hong Kong, Macau

Citigroup has appointed a new chief executive for its Hong Kong and Macau businesses. Aveline San, who has 25 years of experience in banking, replaces Angel Ng, who was appointed Asia head of Citi Global Wealth in April. Tim Monger, Citi's head of the north and east Asia cluster, said Hong Kong is a key growth market and regional hub for Citi. He said that as they continue to grow their wealth management and institutional clients' business in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay area, San's deep understanding of the region's operating environment makes her the ideal leader. San joined the bank in 2019 as the regional compliance officer for Asia Pacific and had previously spent 14 years with UBS. Citi said San will report to Monger.
