Citi appointed Christie Chang as CEO and chair of Citibank Taiwan Limited, pending regulatory approval. She will drive business growth and strengthen the bank’s market presence, reporting to Marc Luet, head of Japan, Asia North & Australia and banking. Chang, a 35-year Citi veteran, is currently president of Citibank Taiwan Limited and vice chair of Asia North corporate banking. She has held senior roles, including APAC corporate banking chair and Taiwan’s institutional clients group head. She succeeds Aftab Ahmed, who is retiring after 50 years with Citi. Ahmed led franchises in Egypt, Hungary, the Philippines, and Taiwan. Citi has operated in Taiwan since 1964, raising over US$25 billion for local clients since 2020. Luet said Chang’s experience positions her well to lead Citi Taiwan.
