Deutsche Bank’s asset management arm, DWS, has named Matthias Naumann as its chief investment officer for real estate in the Asia Pacific, the company said. Naumann, relocating from Frankfurt to Sydney, will report to Christopher Kimm, APAC head of real estate. He will oversee real estate investment opportunities across the region, coordinating with country heads in Australia, South Korea, Japan, and Singapore, and will explore new markets for strategic expansion. Naumann will also continue as chief strategist for DWS Real Estate in EMEA under Clemens Schaefer, co-head of the global real estate platform. Having joined DWS in 2013, Naumann previously managed the European real estate strategy and has held the role of CIO since 2021. This marks his first on-the-ground role in Asia, highlighting DWS’s growth ambitions in the region.
