Economic chiefs back five priority areas of ASEAN-BAC

The ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) expressed their support and appreciation for the efforts of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) in advancing five key areas, namely Digital Transformation, Sustainable Development, Trade Facilitation, Health Resilience, and Food Security, which align with Indonesia's Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs) and the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Blueprint 2025. AEM emphasized the significance of a collaborative approach between the public and private sectors to address the challenges faced by the region and foster a more competitive, integrated, and sustainable bloc. ASEAN-BAC's focus will also be directed towards supporting ASEAN's sustainable development initiatives and enhancing connectivity, innovation, and digital adoption across industries, with a specific emphasis on improving the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
