Elon Musk has revealed that China is preparing to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) regulations, following his meetings with the country's officials during a recent trip. The surge in AI investment and usage, driven by products such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, has prompted governments to consider ways to address potential risks. Meanwhile, Neuralink, Musk's brain-chip start-up, has seen its valuation rise to USD5 billion, a significant jump from its USD2 billion valuation two years ago. However, this valuation has drawn scepticism from some quarters, with neuromodulation expert Arun Sridhar describing it as “bonkers”, given that brain implant technology is still under clinical development.
