Hong Kong Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority’s chair, Ayesha Macpherson Lau, hailed the eMPF, a digital platform launched in June, as a global leader among private pension systems. Unlike most platforms, which are primarily dashboards lacking account management and transaction capabilities, the eMPF offers a centralised, one-stop solution, Lau said. The platform allows members to view and manage all their accounts across different schemes and perform transactions seamlessly. Additionally, the eMPF is expected to reduce the average administration fee of MPF funds by 36% within the first two years. Lau emphasised that this comprehensive approach sets eMPF apart, making it a benchmark in the digitalization of private pension systems globally.
