Family offices in Asia boost AI bets – UBS

Artificial intelligence is becoming a top investment theme among family offices in Singapore and across Asia, UBS’ LH Koh said at CNBC’s CONVERGE LIVE event. Koh said UBS’ family office clients are focusing on AI as the most interesting and important sector. A 2024 UBS survey found over 75% of family offices plan to invest in generative AI within three years. JRT Partners’ Tuck Meng Yee said he is closely watching data classification firms like Cognaize and construction tech firm Consai. Family offices are also revisiting China, where new AI players like DeepSeek are drawing interest. LionRock Capital’s Srihari Kumar said investors are warming up to China after recent stimulus efforts boosted optimism in its tech sector.
