German asset manager DWS names Singapore country officer

German asset manager DWS has appointed Sharon Tan as country officer for Singapore and CEO of DWS Investments Singapore Limited, the firm said in a statement. Tan will lead efforts to strengthen Singapore’s role as a regional hub for alternatives, wealth distribution in Southeast Asia and APAC, and infrastructure business operations. She will retain her current roles as APAC chief operating officer for client coverage and APAC head of business development. Tan brings over 25 years of asset management experience, including 11 years at DWS, and has previously worked at Goldman Sachs Asset Management and Ernst & Young. DWS APAC head Vanessa Wang said the appointment underscores the strategic importance of the Singapore business and the firm’s growth ambitions in the region.
