Finance professionals' economic confidence has reached its highest level since early 2023, according to a recent survey by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). The Global Economic Conditions Survey (GECS) indicates a modest increase in confidence, with indices for New Orders and Employment also showing slight improvements. However, the Capital Expenditure Index declined and remains below average. Notably, confidence has surged in the Asia Pacific region, marking one of the largest increases on record. This rise may reflect optimism about economic resilience in the U.S., recovery signs in China, and hopes for Japan overcoming its long-standing deflation. Despite these positive trends, global concerns about rising operating costs persist, especially in regions like Africa and Asia Pacific.
