Google Malaysia apologises for exchange rate error

Google Malaysia has apologised for mistakenly publishing an incorrect US Dollar to Malaysian Ringgit (USD-MYR) exchange rate on its finance page. The error, which was promptly addressed in collaboration with the third-party data provider, marks the second occurrence of such an incident in 2024, with the previous one happening on February 6. Via a post on X (formerly Twitter), Google Malaysia advised users to refer to official sources like the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) website for accurate financial information and decision-making. This apology comes after the inaccurate exchange rate data was released on March 15, 2024, potentially leading to confusion. Google emphasises that its currency exchange rates should be used for informational purposes only.
