HK’s Asian Financial Forum attracts 3,600 global leaders



The 18th Asian Financial Forum (AFF) officially kicked off on January 13, 2025, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Co-organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the two-day event has drawn about 3,600 financial and business leaders from over 50 countries and regions. Themed “Powering the Next Growth Engine”, the forum features over 130 global policymakers, economists, and industry leaders discussing market trends, innovation, and investment strategies for future growth. Key speakers include Zhou Ji, Executive Vice Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council of China, and Dr. Pan Gongsheng, Governor of the People’s Bank of China. Highlights include discussions on economic stability, global collaboration, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and fintech. The event also focuses on sustainable development and climate change, with sessions addressing green finance and ESG strategies. The AFF deal-making platform connects investors and project owners, while exhibition zones showcase innovations from over 140 fintech firms and startups.
