The eMPF platform, launched to digitise Hong Kong’s Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) management, has garnered over 20,000 registered users in its first month, with the app downloaded 31,000 times, according to chairwoman Ayesha Macpherson Lau. The digital transition sees approximately 60% of MPF activities, such as scheme enrollment and investment changes, conducted online. Lau emphasises the need for continued outreach and education on using the platform, urging employers to engage with support teams for assistance. Additionally, new scheme providers like China Life Trustees are joining, with others like Bank of Communications Trustee and Standard Chartered Trustee (Hong Kong) expected soon. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of managing the system’s 11 million accounts and over HKD1tr in assets.
