Hong Kong’s Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) faces criticism as some MPF accounts on its newly launched eMPF platform do not accurately reflect contributions. Financial Secretary Christopher Hui urged MPFA and its subsidiary, eMPF Platform Company, to address the issue to protect employees’ MPF benefits. Launched in June, the platform aims to streamline MPF administration, with five trustees participating. Lawmaker Tik Chi-yuen highlighted issues like missing contributions and inaccessible records, affecting over 100,000 employees. eMPF Platform CEO Eric Lui called these "individual cases" and reported that over 60,000 electronic transactions had processed smoothly. The MPFA has pledged to resolve the issues by year-end.
