Hong Kong ranks 15th in global wealth, trailing Singapore at 4th and Taiwan at 14th, according to Forbes’ list based on IMF estimates of per capita GDP adjusted for purchasing power parity. Luxembourg tops the list with USD143,740 per person, followed by Macau with USD134,140, making it the wealthiest in Asia. Singapore ranks 4th with USD133,740, while Taiwan’s wealth averages USD76,860. Hongkongers hold USD75,130 each, with the city’s GDP growing 2.9% annually, faster than Singapore’s 2.1%. Knight Frank’s Wealth Report shows Hong Kong had 5,957 individuals with at least USD30m in 2023, compared to Singapore’s 4,783. Hong Kong’s population stands at 7.5 million, 27% larger than Singapore’s 5.9 million.
