Hong Kong ranks eighth globally with 320 centi-millionaires (individuals holding more than USD100m in assets), following Beijing, Singapore, and Shanghai in Asia, according to a report by Henley & Partners and New World Wealth. Beijing holds fifth place with 347 centi-millionaires, Singapore sixth with 336, and Shanghai seventh with 322. Both Singapore and Hong Kong are expected to more than double their centi-millionaire populations by 2040. Cities like Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Taipei, Dubai and Abu Dhabi are projected to see over 150% increases. China’s centi-millionaire population grew by 108% over the past decade, surpassing the U.S.’s 81% growth, although the U.S. still leads globally. New York City tops the list with 744 centi-millionaires, followed by the Bay Area with 675 and Los Angeles with 496. Europe’s growth has been sluggish, increasing only 26% over the past ten years due to slow growth in major markets like the UK, Germany and France.
