Hong Kong’s 2025-26 budget to boosts startups: StartHub Asia

Hong Kong’s 2025-26 financial budget introduces new measures to support startups, drive innovation, and attract global investment, StartHub Asia said. The budget prioritises innovation and technology (I&T), focusing on artificial intelligence, green technology, life sciences, and microelectronics to enhance Hong Kong’s global competitiveness. It allocates HKD100m (USD12.85m) for the Manufacturing+ scheme, helping startups upgrade production lines, and strengthens the BUD Fund to support market expansion. The New Industrialisation Acceleration Scheme further assists startups in adopting advanced technologies. The government’s push to attract international enterprises enhances funding and partnership opportunities, while sustainability investments in green energy and hydrogen technologies create new avenues for startups. FutureSkills training programs will also build a skilled workforce for the I&T sector. “These initiatives empower startups and reinforce Hong Kong’s position as a global entrepreneurship hub”, StartHub Asia said.
