Indonesia-based education firm Inspirasi Schools, founded by the creator of Singapore Intercultural Schools (SIS) Group, is seeking to raise USD20-30m in fresh funding from existing backer Altrui and other investors to expand its network nationally and internationally. Altrui, the family office of Indonesia-listed Japfa Comfeed, has previously invested in Inspirasi Schools to support the establishment of at least three new schools in Sumatra and other locations planned for 2025. The company focuses on affordable education, charging less than USD2,000 annually, and prefers funding from family offices to align with its long-term goals. Inspirasi is also in talks with Gudang Garam to manage a new sports school in East Java. The move comes amid increased private equity interest in Southeast Asia's education sector.
