Indonesia to freeze online gambling accounts

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Hadi Tjahjanto, announced Wednesday that bank accounts linked to online gambling will be frozen, and their funds will be handed over to the state. The task force, through the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), has identified 4,000 to 5,000 accounts suspected of online gambling. The data will be submitted to the police for further investigation and action. If account ownership is not claimed within 30 days of freezing, the funds will be transferred to the state. The total detected funds amount to hundreds of billions of rupiahs. President Joko Widodo recently signed a decision to establish this special task force.
