Kyobo Life enters asset trusts business with new licence

Kyobo Life Insurance has secured a licence to enter the asset trusts business, expanding its offerings as part of its evolution into a comprehensive asset management company, the South Korean insurer announced Monday. This new licence allows Kyobo Life to manage various asset types—including money, real estate, securities, and special property—under one contract. The service is designed to aid in retirement planning and prevent inheritance disputes by allowing customers to dictate asset use in cases of death or dementia. Kyobo Life plans to further expand its trust services, including insurance claim rights trusts, reflecting its commitment to lifecycle-tailored financial solutions and aiming to address the needs of an ageing population.
