Manulife names Steve Finch as new Asia CEO

Manulife has appointed Steve Finch as Asia president and CEO, effective May 9, succeeding Phil Witherington, who will become the insurer’s global CEO. Finch, currently Manulife’s chief actuary, has been with the company for 32 years, holding leadership roles including CFO of John Hancock and general manager of its US life insurance business. Manulife CEO Roy Gori said Finch’s experience and leadership would drive the company’s growth in Asia, a key market. The successor for chief actuary will be announced in due course with whom Finch will work to ensure a seamless transition.
