Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) launched a new online data platform, HKEX Data Marketplace, allowing global investors direct access to historical and reference data. The web-based service uses multiple delivery channels, including cloud transfer, to streamline data access. Initially, it will offer shareholding data from the central clearing and settlement system for commercial use, as well as historical full book data from HKEX’s securities and derivatives markets, and daily non-trading reference data. HKEX Chief Executive Bonnie Chan Yi-ting said the initiative complements the exchange’s core business and offers fresh opportunities. Additional features, including data customisation tools and more delivery options, will follow. A Chinese-language interface is planned for the first half of next year.
