OECD forecasts global GDP growth stabilising at 3.2% in 2024-2025

Global GDP growth is expected to stabilise at 3.2% in both 2024 and 2025, with inflation continuing to ease, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said in its latest economic outlook. The OECD projects U.S. GDP growth to slow to 2.6% in 2024 and further to 1.6% in 2025, cushioned by monetary policy easing. Euro area GDP is forecast to grow by 0.7% in 2024 and accelerate to 1.3% in 2025, supported by a recovery in real incomes and improved credit availability. Headline inflation has been falling in most countries due to declines in food and energy prices. The OECD noted that a more than 10% drop in oil prices since July could reduce global headline inflation by around 0.5 percentage points over the coming year.
