At the 2024 Smart City Summit and Expo in Taipei, ICT industry leaders emphasised the critical role of international partnerships in advancing smart city initiatives globally. Highlighting the necessity of collaborations between ICT firms and governments, they discussed enhancing internet connectivity to meet the multifaceted demands of smart cities. Dr. Non Arkaraprasetkul stressed public-private partnerships’ importance, while the expo showcased cutting-edge AI and 5G technologies to Thai mayors, illustrating potential for future projects. Discussions also covered expanding internet access in rural areas to ensure no one is left behind in the digital transition. The Expo reflected Taiwan’s strides in smart city and net-zero efforts, presenting a diverse array of initiatives aimed at transforming urban living.
