South Korea’s NPS opens new office in Silicon Valley

South Korea’s National Pension Service (NPS), the world’s third-largest pension fund, inaugurated its new office in Silicon Valley, located in the One Bush Podium building, San Francisco, on September 5. This marks NPS’s fourth international office, adding to its presence in New York, London, and Singapore. The San Francisco branch will focus on alternative investments in the US West Coast’s tech sector, planning to establish a specialised tech-sector team to delve into venture and growth capital investments. Initially staffed by five employees overseeing private equity, stocks, and real estate investments, the office plans to double its workforce. This expansion is part of NPS’s strategy to enhance its engagement with the vibrant tech industry and leverage California’s economic dynamism.
