The National Tax Service of Korea and Vietnam’s General Department of Taxation held the 24th Korea-Vietnam Bilateral Commissioners’ Meeting in Hanoi, addressing tax challenges faced by Korean firms operating in Vietnam. The countries, with USD86.8bn in trade, discussed digital tax administration, double taxation resolution, and value-added tax refunds. It marked the first in-person meeting since October 2023. Officials agreed to enhance cooperation through AI-driven tax solutions and renew the Korea-Vietnam Tax Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding, ensuring continued dialogue and working-level exchanges. The NTS reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening administrative cooperation with key partners, aiming to create a stable tax environment for businesses.
