State Street Global Advisors, the asset management division of US-based State Street Corp, announced the immediate appointment of Dohei Echizenya as head of its Japan operations. Echizenya will report directly to Kevin Anderson, head of Asia Pacific for the firm. With nearly 30 years of industry experience, Echizenya joins from BlackRock, where he was the director of the client business division in Japan. His appointment aligns with the company’s plans to leverage government initiatives aimed at promoting Japan as a leading asset management centre. State Street Global Advisors stated that Echizenya’s expertise in developing strategies and managing complex, growth-oriented businesses will be crucial in enhancing services for Japanese investors.
