Sydney will host Australia's largest-ever business summit for ASEAN nations on August 29-30, drawing up to 500 delegates. The 2024 Australia-ASEAN Business Forum will mark 50 years of the Australia-ASEAN partnership, featuring keynotes from ASEAN Secretary-General Dr. Kao Kim Hourn and other government officials. The forum aims to capitalise on Australia’s economic push into the region, with discussions on green economy, energy transition, start-ups, and digital transformation. A second day will focus on an ASEAN showcase and business matching. The forum coincides with Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040. ASEAN is one of Australia's biggest trading partners, with two-way trade reaching USD183.4 billion in 2023. Event partners include Austrade, HSBC, and Business NSW.
