Thai firms urged to embrace diversity

In Thailand, a concerted effort led by the government and major corporations like Berli Jucker (BJC) and Big C Supercenter is underway to promote gender diversity and inclusivity within the business sector. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, at a seminar on gender equality, underscored the nation’s commitment to ensuring gender parity, emphasising recent legislative efforts under the Gender Equality Act. The move towards inclusivity is further evidenced by BJC’s workforce composition, which boasts a balanced gender ratio and a significant representation of 2SLGTBQIA+ employees, showcasing the firm as a model for an inclusive workplace. This initiative represents a critical step towards creating a more equitable society in Thailand, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector in driving social progress.
