Warburg Pincus and Lendlease announced the final closing of a life sciences real estate joint venture platform, with each committing 50% of the co-investment capital. The platform, headquartered in Singapore, aims to grow into a multi-billion-dollar entity by attracting third-party investors and additional capital. It will focus on investing, acquiring, developing, managing, and operating real estate projects in the fast-growing life sciences and R&D markets in Asia Pacific. The joint venture combines Warburg Pincus’s nearly 20 years of investment experience in Asia real estate with Lendlease’s 30 years in life sciences real estate. The platform starts with two of Lendlease’s businesses and its first investment vehicle, LINO, owning Leaf Minatomirai, a 24,000 square meter R&D workplace in Yokohama.
